Taylor was and has been interested in fashion for a long time.  She was awarded the grant in 2010.  Taylor spent a good part of the summer and fall designing, creating, sewing a line of clothes.

The Alex Cohn Grant gave me the chance to pursue something I had always loved and been interested in, but in ways I never thought I would be able to. The grant is a chance for students at this age to have the opportunity to plan, budget, and gain real world experience while being able to complete a dream project. My project helped me confirm that fashion design was a field I wanted to work in and I believe the grant was a big part of helping me gain admission to prestigious art schools in New York City.
